Your printed canvas is stretched over the wooden frame like a museum grade painting where the edge of your image will be printed on the sides of the canvas. It’s important that you make sure the main subject of your photo is printed on the face of the canvas to make sure nothing critical is too close to the edge of the photo.
This is a great solution if your photo has important details close to the edge of the photo which you don’t want to lose to the sides of the canvas, but you still want a photo edge look. To do this we copy the final 5cm at the edge of the canvas and invert this so that it ‘mirrors’ the edge of your image and is printed on the sides of the canvas so that you get to keep the whole of your image on the face of the canvas! You can see a full immediate preview of this effect in the editor.
You get to keep the entire photo on the front of the canvas and we mirror the edge as described above, but we then apply a blur effect to the sides so that you still get the photo edge look but the detail is blurred. This is useful if say there was an arm on the face of the canvas that is mirrored on the edge and looks a little odd without the blur! See the effect live in the editor.
Another option is to print the image in full on the front of the canvas and we print sides in white so that you can which provides a clean look whilst drawing your eye to the main focus of the image that is on the front of the canvas.
As per the White Edge effect, you get the full image you want on the front of the canvas and we print the edges with a clean, crisp black edge. Again this can really finish off a great canvas with contrast of the black edging to your design.
